About Us
Greenland Sharks are a crew of guys who get together in real life. Sometimes it’s an organized event. Sometimes it’s simply a reason to meet up and spend time together. There is no formal structure and no program to follow. The only common thread is that people show up and enjoy being around others who do the same.
Greenland Sharks began in Chicago, but the idea isn’t tied to one place. It’s simply the belief that life is better when you occasionally step away from the routine and spend time with good people. Wherever that happens, the idea works.

Why Greenland Sharks?
The real Greenland shark can live hundreds of years, survives brutal environments, and moves at its own pace. We liked the idea – guys who have been around long enough to know a few things and still show up.
What exactly are Greenland Sharks?
A crew of guys who still show up in real life. Sometimes we compete at pointless things. Sometimes we eat breakfast. Usually there’s food afterward.
Is this a men's group?
Not really. No speeches, no seminars, no personal journeys. Just guys doing things together.
How did Greenland Sharks start?
Five friends in Chicago started meeting for Friday breakfast shortly before the pandemic. The name stuck and the crew slowly grew.
Is this supposed to be serious?
Not particularly. But the friendships that come out of it often are.
